Halloween Bouquet & Traditions

Today I received an unexpected surprise.  A beautiful Fall bouquet.  Personally delivered by my daughter’s friend.  Ms. Brandy  Brandi - oops.

Isn’t it beautiful!  A girl after my heart!

The delivery “girl” asked the question “Are you having French Onion Soup for Halloween?”.    Hmmm....a delivery girl with an ulterior motive but I was delighted.  It meant that the tradition that I started when my girls were little had truly become a tradition.  My very own tradition!

It all began when my girls were little.  The excitement of getting out for Halloween would turn into pandemonium.   Wanting my girls to go out with warmth in their bellies, the very least I could do was make them sit for a bowl of soup before heading out.   French onion soup with a chunk of French bread and topped with mozzarella.   Quick, filling and nourishing.  Every Halloween for the past 20’ish years means French Onion Soup Au Gratin.   A tradition was born.

Happy Halloween!

P.S.        Brandi will be popping in just in time for French Onion Soup.
P.P.S.     Brandi didn't show on Halloween so my daughter commented on her MySpace that I was putting her soup for sale on ebay today - haha.  She showed up!
