The garden takes up some of my time.
I’ve also been out hunting down treasures – in old haunts and new.One of my favorite old haunts is a little shop called the “Calico Shack”. There are as many things outside braving the elements as there are inside. I just love poking around outside this shop.
Sometimes there are surprise guests.
Last Saturday I visited one of my new favorite places, Viviana’s Vintage. I wasn’t even in the store yet when I spotted this!
Oh my! Others have their addictions to china and Pyrex. Old suitcases are mine. This big old leather suitcase is awesome! Monogrammed too!
In excellent condition with just one little flaw….
A section of the lining was detached…..nothing a little spray adhesive can’t fix.
I'm with you....I love vintage suitcases, I have a couple with the plans to rework them but so far, I am using them for storage! Thanks for linking in today..Have a great VTT!
ReplyDeletethose green peppers look lovely! and i LOVE old suitcases too..what a fabulous shop :) x
ReplyDeleteWhat great treasures you have found! I love your old suitcases, they are fantastic! Thanks for stopping by at Crafty Housewife and have a wonderful VTT!
ReplyDeleteHi Maureen...what neat suitcases those are. I never see those when I am out antiquing or thrifting. Your veggies sure look too pretty to eat. Thanks for commenting with your input on my post. So that you know every Friday I have my thrift party...you may know that, can't recall...but I would love for you to join me sometime. Debbie
ReplyDeleteI love visiting places like that, too. Love the little furry friends.
ReplyDeleteHi Maureen I am with you on the pepper productions. Burned my hands up making pepper jelly. I also love to browse thrift shops. That is where I found my candy tin with my name on it. My linky didn't work today, so I am inviting you over for a visit. Blessings

I like the way your old suitcase really looks like my image of a suitcase.
ReplyDeleteI am glad you got out an about. You found some nice vintage items for today.
ReplyDeletehihihi! You have oldsuitcasemania! :)
ReplyDeleteGreat suitcase. I always dig around the junk outside of the antique stores and have found some of the neatest things that way. I think a lot of people just bypass that on the way inside.
ReplyDeleteHi Maureen, I too love old suit cases. A rare find these days. This one is a beauty. The lining is such a small boo boo. It looks like it will be all fixed. Good job.
ReplyDeleteYour veggies look so good. I spent the summer canning jam. Lots of it with my daughter. Probably well over 125 jars. We give lots of it away.
Happy VTT
Hugs, Jeanne
Hi, thanks for visiting with me. Calico Shack looks like a fun place to spend some good quality time. Oh, how I wish I had room for a garden. Thanks for sharing;-)
ReplyDeleteWow! What a great looking harvest!..Christine
ReplyDeleteVintage suitcases..IS it the smell, the untold stories of travel, the wanderlust most of us feel? What is it about suitcases that draw so many of us to run our hands across the smooth leathers and to get a whiff of the past as we slowly undo the latches?
ReplyDeleteI'm just thrilled that these treasures are still to be found.
